I had written the opening about a year prior, just a pretty little arrangement that I didn't know where or how I'd make use of it. Once I wrote Pendulum, I thought that the opening provided a nice segue, but wanted to bring back the energy from the first half of the EP. Three minutes worth of gain-saturated chugging, soloing, a breakdown, and a half time reprise of an earlier part of the song, it came full full circle to a quiet ending once more, making for a very happy Dave. Oh, and the title? If you've ever played a Final Fantasy game, you know where it comes from ;) The sample about 2/3 of the way into the song was a happy coincidence. I'd tell people the name of the song, and they'd always have trouble pronouncing or understanding how to say it. Then I saw that video, and, well...
